🚐✂️ Big news from NCPS Career and Technical Education (CTE)!
On Thursday, May 22, we celebrated the official ribbon cutting for our brand-new Mobile Career Exploration Lab!
This innovative mobile lab brings hands-on career exploration straight to our students, featuring high-tech virtual simulators like an auto paint sprayer, forklift, welding, and backhoe simulator. Plus, it includes a 3D printer, robotic arm, STEM activities, and so much more!
We’re excited to see how this incredible resource will inspire our students and help them discover and prepare future career paths.

🦉🔬 Exciting Science in Action! 🔬🦉
Ashley Mills and Charisma Lee, teachers from Nashville Elementary, had an amazing time diving into the fascinating world of owl pellet exploration! 🦉✨
This hands-on science adventure was made even more special thanks to our collaboration with Reggie Cobb from Nash Community College. Together, students examined real owl pellets, discovered tiny bones, and learned all about food chains and animal biology.
We love seeing our young scientists so engaged and curious! Thank you to everyone who made this unforgettable learning experience possible. 👏

🌟 Spring Hope Elementary STEM Activity 🌟
To help our 5th graders review state Science standards, Mrs. Katie Barnes teamed up with Marcy Keener, our K-12 STEM Coordinator, for an unforgettable hands-on experience! 🚀
Students explored how factors like gravity, friction, and changes in mass affect the motion of objects. Their challenge? Design and build a structure to protect an egg dropped from a significant height on the playground! 🥚⬇️
Through teamwork, creativity, and a whole lot of scientific thinking, our students put their knowledge to the test and had a blast doing it! We’re so proud of their hard work and innovative ideas. Way to go, Spring Hope scientists! 👏🔬

The NCPS American Indian subgroup (as of 2023-24) was performing 11.6 points higher than the American Indian subgroup across the state of NC.
Together, we make a difference!

🦈 Science with a Bite! 🧪📚
At Coopers Elementary, learning really came to life for our 5th Grade AIG & Math Law students in Mrs. Adkins’ class! These young scientists took on a hands-on shark dissection that blended science, literacy, and leadership in one unforgettable experience. 🧠💡
Why dissect a shark? Students explored how body systems work together and discovered the important role sharks play in our ecosystem. This real-world learning also tied into ELA standards as students analyzed texts, summarized key ideas, and presented their findings like true professionals. 📝🦈
And they didn’t stop there—our 5th graders became leaders by sharing their discoveries with younger classes, sparking curiosity and excitement all around! 🌟👏
Special thanks to Mr. Reggie Cobb from Nash Community College for helping make this jaw-some learning adventure possible!
