Middle School

NCPS Secondary Education team  works to empower and engage middle school and high school students to prepare them for life beyond graduation.

Middle schools serve as the bridge to assist students to make the academic and social transition between elementary school and high school.

Middle schools provide students in 6th through 8th grade with rigorous instruction in the core subjects as well as engaging electives that give middle school students opportunities to explore possible career choices, while preparing them to be successful when they enter high school.

The secondary education team strives to ensure that every student is provided excellent and equitable learning experiences to prepare them for productive and meaningful lives.

NCPS middle schools strive to:

  • Ensure all environments are safe and conducive for maximum learning;

    • Align all curriculum to local and state standards;

    • Serve as the liaison between the NC Department of Instruction, the district and the schools; and

    • Enhance the instructional capacity of all instructional staff.
