Please welcome Mrs. Morgan Dollar as our Assistant Principal! Morgan Dollar has been selected to serve Edwards Elementary as the Assistant Principal. Mrs. Dollar has been in education for 11 years. Previously she has held the following positions: EC Instructional Content Specialist, EC Co-Teacher, and Extended Content Standards teacher all within Nash County Public Schools. Mrs. Dollar attended Barton College for her undergraduate degrees in Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Special Education. She also attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke for her Master’s degree in School Administration. Mrs. Dollar is thrilled to join the Edwards Elementary community and eager to serve in her role. She stated that "with a passion for fostering academic excellence and a supportive environment, I look forward to working together to achieve great things for our students and school".

Please welcome Ms. Kimberly Newkirk as our Student Support Facilitator! Ms. Newkirk earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education from East Carolina University, where she developed a passion for equipping young minds with essential knowledge and skills. Motivated by a desire to make a broader impact in education, she pursued and achieved a Master of Arts in School Administration, accompanied by licensure in Curriculum and Instruction, also from East Carolina University. For the past decade, Ms. Newkirk has had the privilege to serve in various administrative roles within the public education sector. As a Student Support Facilitator, she states that her "philosophy will be centered on fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to achieve their full potential". Ms. Newkirk is committed to collaborating with teachers, staff, parents, and the community to ensure that Edwards Elementary School will be a place where excellence in education thrives.
