A Welcome Message from Our Principal, Dr. Allen Wilson: Greetings: Edwards Elementary Families, I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying a wonderful summer break. As we approach the opening of Edwards Elementary, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as your principal and share my excitement about the upcoming school year. My name is Dr. Allen Wilson, and I truly consider it an honor to be given this opportunity to serve the Edwards Elementary School family and the surrounding community! Prior to stepping into this new role, I was the principal of Bailey Elementary School for the past two years and have accumulated over 10 years in education. Before becoming a school administrator, I began my career in education as a science teacher at Southern Nash Middle School and coached boys’ golf at Southern Nash High School. I attended North Carolina Wesleyan University for my undergraduate degree in Biology and Gardner-Webb University for both my master’s degree in Executive Leadership and doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. We will be working diligently over the summer to prepare our facility and to create a welcoming and vibrant space where your children will feel safe, valued, and inspired. We are excited to share this journey with you, and look forward to building a strong and supportive school community together. To help us get to know each other better, we will be hosting 3 Learning Series events on July 30th, August 6th, and August 13th from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. in the gym at the school. This will be a wonderful opportunity for you to view parts of the facility, meet the administrative team, and learn more about the exciting programs and activities we have planned for the year ahead. I am truly looking forward to meeting each of you and working collaboratively to make Edwards Elementary School a place where every student can achieve their full potential.
