Good afternoon Jaguar cubs families. This is Mrs. Gorham, principal of Fairview Elementary. This week is the final week of school for students in the 23-24 school year. Here are a few reminders for the coming days. Monday, May 27 is Memorial Day, a student holiday and school will be closed on that day. Wednesday, May 29 is awards day. Students receiving awards received invitations a couple of weeks ago. Please refer to the invitation for their awards ceremony time. Be reminded that both Wednesday, May 29 and Thursday May 30 are early release days and that Thursday May 30 is the last day of school. Dismissal will begin at 1pm on those days. Report cards will be available in your Powerschool Parent Portal on June 6 and will be available for pick up beginning June 10. Tomorrow the window opens for our mClass assessments, which measure our students growth in Reading. Please ensure that your students are in bed early and on time for school. Our Scholastic book fair is open this week. If you'd like to shop with your student, you may come at 7:30am tomorrow morning. Students will have to opportunity to shop daily this week. This week is also Teacher Appreciation Week. If you'd like to do something nice for your child's teacher, please do so. They work hard daily to ensure your students success. Field day will be held from 9 - 11:30 for all grade levels. Students who ordered them will receive their t-shirts tomorrow morning prior to field day and will wear them home after. The Fairview PTO and Cummins will provide food for all students. Webbies will be open for snow cone purchases at field day. Snow cones are $3 each. If you wish to sign your child out after field day is over, you may do so by signing them out with the teacher. You must be listed in Powerschool and provide your ID. The Scholastic Book Fair will be open tomorrow morning prior to Field Day from 8:00-9 and after the field day ends book fair will remain open until about 1pm. This is Dr. Lee, Assistant Principal at Fairview. Today will be an early release day for students. Dismissal begins at 1:00. Make sure someone is in place to pick up your student or receive your student at bus stops and crosswalks. Also, Bus 330 does not have a driver today. These students will need to be car riders.

This Tuesday, April 16 , Fairview families are invited to the Greatest Show Carnival on the lawn behind DS Johnson. Admission to this event is free and there will be games, food and fun. Field day is scheduled for May 3, 2024. Field day tshirts and snow cone order are being accepted. Please send $10 along with the order form with your students size to school by Friday.
