Good Evening Bear Family - We hope that you have had a great time during our break. It is now time to return tomorrow for the remainder of our 2024 - 2025 school year. Just a reminder to check the Lost and Found at the front of the school for missing jackets and things. These will be donated, if they are not claimed by January 16th! This week is a full week ahead. January 17, 21 and 22 are Teacher Workdays - No School for students. January 20 is a Holiday for Students and Staff. Here are our events for January-February: January 16 - Last day of T2 Grading Period January 17 - Teacher Workday (No School for Students) January 20 - MLK, Jr Holiday - No School for Students or Staff January 21 and 22 - Teacher Workdays (No School for Students) January 24 - Report Cards go home January 27 - 31 = Grade 5 Science Benchmarks February - PTA Fundraiser Begins February 6 - NCPS District Spelling Bee at Word Tabernacle February 10-11 = Teacher Workdays February 21 - Progress Reports go home February 25 - Spring Picture Day We hope that you have a restful evening. Our Annual Hot Chocolate Night returns December 19, 2024. Join us for an evening of Hot Chocolate, Book Fair shopping, pictures for sale with Beary, and a performance by our Glee Club & some staff members.

We are gearing up for our last week before the holiday season. We have a busy week ahead for this week. We are continuing our Holiday Spirit Month that will conclude on December 20, if your student chooses to participate.. We have our Kindergarten dental screening for Thursday, December 19 at 9 am. If you do not want your child to participate, please send in a note for the nurse. Also on Thursday, we have our Hot Chocolate Night, along with Glee Club performances, Pictures with Beary, and Book Fair Shopping. The event is from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm. We will begin with a PTA Meeting at 5:30 pm, then move into the singing portion. Bring money for book fair shopping and pictures with Beary. This is a cash only event. Good Morning Bear Family! We wanted to give you all the heads up: Starting January 6th (when students return) we will begin our Candy Apple fundraiser. Order forms will come home on January 6th. Order forms and cash will be due to the school January 23rd. That will be the last day we can collect as we have to turn in all orders on January 24. Staff have workdays on December 17, 21, and 22. You can drop off order forms these days if needed.

Just a reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday, December 11th is an Early Release Day for students. We dismiss at 1 pm. Please make arrangements for your students.

Good Morning, Englewood Families! Bus 366 will not be running on Tuesday, Wednesday, and possibly Thursday this week. Students who ride Bus 366 will need a ride to and from school on those days. Please note that Wednesday is an early release day and school closes at 1:00 p.m. We apologize for any inconvenience!

Good Evening Bear Family - We had a wonderful week last week. We are continuing our Holiday Spirit Days this week, if your students would like to participate. Wednesday is an Early Release Day for Students. Students get out of school at 1 pm. Please make arrangements for pick up at school or be at the bus stop early. Tuesday and Thursday, we will have Boys Basketball Practice, and on Thursday, we will have Cheerleading Practice. The following week - December 16 - 20 is our Book Fair. Mark your calendars! Book Fair is headed our way December 16-20. See the attached flyer for details on shopping with your student. The schedule on the flyer list the day of the week, the time and the homeroom teacher. You can use that schedule to shop with your student during their scheduled media time.

Bus 83 students will be on Sub Bus 350 this afternoon and possibly tomorrow morning.

Good Evening Kindergarten Parents - The Public Health Dental Hygienist for the NC DHHS is coming to screen Kindergarten students 9 a.m. December 19. If you do not wish for your Kindergartner to be screened, you will need to send in a signed note to the school nurse. Thank You!
