Thursday, January 23, 2025 will be a Remote Learning Day for all of Nash County Public Schools (NCPS). Remote learning assignments may be accessed through Canvas, Google Classroom or other communication from your child’s teachers or principal. Office hours will also be offered by teachers if permissible. Please look for detailed information in Rooms and/or your student’s learning management system.
NCPS has procedures in place to ensure students are not negatively affected if they are unable to complete tasks due to a lack of technology, power, or other challenges. If you have any questions, please contact your student’s teacher(s).
Friday, January 24, 2025: All NCPS schools will operate on a two-hour delay due to the potential for icy road conditions. Breakfast will be available at schools. Students may be dropped off 40 minutes prior to the start of their school day. Essential personnel should report at their regular time, provided it is safe to do so.

Good Evening Bear Family -
We hope that you enjoyed the snow today! Tomorrow is the first day of the new grading period, and we will have a remote learning day. This simply means that teachers will post an assignment for students to complete in Rooms. Teachers are providing Office Hours for students or parents that have questions in completing assignments. Students have 4 days to complete their work, in order to be counted present. All work will be posted in Rooms, and it can be completed without a device. If you have any questions, please contact your teacher through Rooms.
On Friday, January 24, we will have a 2 HR Delay. Please note that students cannot be dropped off until 10:20 am. The tardy bell will ring at 11 am. All Candy Apple forms and cash money is due on Friday to the school. Please make sure that all sales are turned in early on Friday morning.
3rd Grade Parents - Please remember to send in $3.50 for your students' recorders. They will begin playing recorders on January 27th!

A special thank you to students at North Carolina Wesleyan University (NCWU) for spending the morning today by beautifying our campus. When our Englewood students return on Thursday, we have new volleyball and soccer nets on our big playground, as well as mulch around our signs and in some flower beds. Thank you to Mr. Elliott Smith for his leadership with this community endeavor.

Friday is a Workday - No School for Students. Just a reminder that all items in the Lost and Found need to be claimed by Thursday of this week. All items will be donated to a local thrift store after January 16th. Next week - No School Jan 20 - 22 due to the MLK Holiday and Workdays. Report Cards go home on January 24.

Good Morning Bear Family! Wanted to remind you all that Candy Apple Sales have begun. Order forms should of come home on Monday January 6th. Sales are cash only and due back at school no later than January 23. Orders must be turned in on the 23rd. Teachers will have workday's on January 17, 21, and 22. If you are ready to turn in your forms those days you can drop them off with the front office.
Nash County Public Schools will operate on an early release schedule Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, as follows:
All Elementary Schools will be released early at 2:00 p.m.
All Middle Schools and Tar River Academy will be released early at 2:30 p.m.
All traditional High Schools will be released early at 1:30 p.m.
CITI High School and Early College High School will be released early at 11:30 a.m
All exams will continue as planned.
All after-school activities and events are canceled due to the weather forecast. This decision, made with guidance from emergency officials, prioritizes the safety of our students, staff, and school communities.
