
The ECPS and NCPS Demerger/Transition Plan Team convened on Monday, October 16, for a joint meeting. They delivered presentations to the Nash County Public Schools Board of Education, Nash County Board of Commissioners, Edgecombe County Public Schools Board of Education, and Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners during the meeting. The submission of the transition plan to the state is scheduled for November 15.

This is Mike Girouard, Principal with some announcements for the week.
Fall pictures will be Friday 10/27...all students will receive information on Monday. Student must wear uniforms for the fall pictures as these are the photos used for the yearbook. Students may dress down for the Spring pictures.
I want to commend our students and staff in their support of the United Way fundraising campaign this year. Collectively, Red Oak Middle raised over $6,000 to support our local United Way and all of projects. This is a true win for our community and demonstrates service-minded leadership which we all strive for.
In athletics:
The volleyball team finished in 1st place in the north division of the Tri-Counties Conference and will host the semi-finals of the conference championship this Wednesday. They will be playing Elm City starting at 4:00... Hilliard is on the gate.
The soccer team finished in 1st place in the north division of the Tri-Counties Conference and will host the semi-finals of the conference championship this Wednesday. They will be playing Springfield starting at 4:00... Poythress is on the gate.
The football team finished in 2nd place in the north division of the Tri-Counties Conference and will be playing in the Sugar bowl at Springfield on Thursday starting at 4:00.
The girls tennis team won the Tri-Counties Conference Championship with a record of 5-2.

Thursday is an early release day. Students will be released at 1:30.
