Remote Instruction in NCPS
Remote Instruction Overview
Nash County Public Schools may use up to five Remote Instruction Days during the school year when in-person learning is not possible. These days ensure learning continues during inclement weather, unsafe travel conditions, power outages, or facility issues.
Families will be notified of a Remote Instruction Day through automated calls, texts, alerts, social media, and the district website. Schools and teachers will also share information through ClassDojo and NCSIS Campus Learning (Learning Management System).
Attendance Information
Students are considered present by:
- Participating in live virtual classes (grades 3-13)
- Completing and submitting assignments online or offline
- Students have up to 4 days to submit assignments for a Remote Instruction Day.
- Utilizing two-way communication tools (Class Dojo/email) to communicate with teacher(s) and submit assignments
Devices/Connectivity
- Kindergarten - 2nd Grade Students: No devices, paper-based instruction, or communication over Class Dojo/email to parents
- 3rd Grade - 13th Grade Students: Devices should be sent home for live instruction
- Refer to Class Dojo and/or your student's Learning Management System (NCSIS Campus Learning) for schedules and secure links to virtual classes.
Learning Management System
- Students in grades 3 through 13 use NCSIS Campus Learning as their learning platform during Remote Instruction Days.
- Students should navigate to NCEdCloud and click on NCSIS (Infinite Campus - Campus Learning) to access assignments and directions from their teachers.
