Closure of Nash Everywhere Digital Academy (NEDA)

Important Update Regarding Nash Everywhere Digital Academy

Dear Nash Everywhere Digital Academy Families,

At the Nash County Public Schools May Board of Education meeting, the Nash County Board of Education voted to close Nash Everywhere Digital Academy, effective June 30, 2026.

Nash Everywhere Digital Academy was established as an official Remote Learning Academy during the 2022–2023 school year, serving students in grades 1 through 12. Since that time, student enrollment has continued to decline, particularly at the elementary level. Due to this continued decline, elementary enrollment was phased out, and NEDA currently serves middle and high school students for the 2025-2026 school year.

In accordance with the school closure process outlined in state law, the district completed a study of Nash Everywhere Digital Academy. This review included enrollment trends, academic performance, student assignment, school capacity, student welfare considerations, and operational costs.

After reviewing this information, the district determined that NEDA is no longer educationally or operationally justified. Students currently enrolled in NEDA will return to their geographically assigned base schools for the 2026–2027 school year.

We understand that this transition may affect families, and Nash County Public Schools is committed to supporting students and families throughout the process. Families will receive direct communication regarding school assignments, enrollment steps, transportation information, scheduling, and points of contact for transition questions.

For students who may need additional support, including students with IEPs, Section 504 plans, health needs, attendance concerns, or other student support services, NCPS will provide individualized transition planning to help ensure continuity of services and support.

Receiving schools will also provide orientation opportunities to help students and families prepare for the return to an in-person school setting.

We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible and will continue to provide updates and support throughout the process.

Thank you for your understanding and partnership.

Thank you,

Nash County Public Schools
