Southern Nash High School Band

SNHS Band

Big news from the Southern Nash High School Band! 🎢

Noah Johnson, a junior at Southern Nash High School, has earned 5th chair tuba in the North Carolina All-State Band, placing him among the top high school tuba players in the entire state. Earning a spot in the All-State ensemble is an incredible accomplishment, requiring musicians to compete against the very best across North Carolina.

Noah is currently the only student from Nash County Public Schools selected for the All-State Band and is one of just a few students from Eastern North Carolina to earn this honor. He will represent Southern Nash at the All-State Band Clinic, held May 1–3 at UNC Greensboro.

We are incredibly proud of Noah and the dedication he has shown to his craft.

Southern Nash also had a strong showing at auditions:
🎷 Brody Wallace earned 1st alternate on tenor saxophone, ranking 3rd in the state and just one spot shy of the ensemble.
🎷 Demitri Braxton earned 5th alternate on tenor saxophone.

The opportunity to audition alone is a major achievement, and we celebrate all three students for their hard work and commitment.

Congratulations to Noah, Brody, and Demitri for representing Southern Nash High School and Nash County Public Schools so well! 🎺🎷
