NASHVILLE, N.C. – Nash County Public Schools proudly recognized its United Way Coordinators during the March Board of Education meeting, celebrating a historic year of generosity and community impact.

During the meeting, district leaders honored the school and department coordinators whose leadership and dedication resulted in a record-breaking $118,933 raised for the United Way during the 2025–2026 campaign. This milestone reflects the collective commitment of NCPS staff to support families and strengthen the Nash County community.

Superintendent Dr. Steve Ellis expressed appreciation for the coordinators’ efforts, noting that the campaign’s success is a direct result of their organization, communication, and commitment within their schools and departments.

2025–2026 Award Highlights

The following schools and departments were recognized for outstanding achievement:

Highest Total Contributions

United Way BOE Meeting

  • Elementary School: Edwards Elementary – $8,003
  • Middle School: Red Oak Middle – $6,714
  • High School: Northern Nash High – $6,462
  • Department: Student Services – $11,581

Largest Contribution Increase

  • Maintenance Department – Increased by 289%

Exceeded Goal by 5% or More

Hubbard Elementary (240%), Finance Department (65%), Human Resources (53%), Englewood Elementary (40%), Nash Central Middle (35%), Winstead Avenue Elementary (33%), Tar River Academy (32%), Spring Hope Elementary (30%), Red Oak Elementary (29%), Nash Central High (22%), Coopers Elementary (21%), Academics & Accountability Department (18%), Benvenue Elementary (14%), and Rocky Mount High (13%).

District leaders emphasized that the impact of these contributions extends far beyond the workplace. Funds raised through United Way support critical programs and services that benefit students, families, and the broader Nash County community.

NCPS extends its sincere appreciation to every coordinator and staff member who contributed to the campaign’s success.
