Nash Central and Northern Nash Communities Unite to Support the Fight Against ALS

NASH COUNTY, N.C. – Nash Central High School and Northern Nash High School came together Friday, August 28, 2026, for more than a football rivalry. During the game, members of the school communities participated in an ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, pouring buckets of ice water over their heads to honor and remember individuals who are living with ALS and those who have lost their lives to the disease.
The ice bucket activity served as a visible reminder of the impact ALS has on individuals and families while also helping raise awareness and funds to support those affected.
Through the generosity of the Nash Central and Northern Nash communities, $1,035 has been raised to support the ALS Association North Carolina Chapter. The Northern Nash Athletic Department also matched the donation of Nash Central High School, further strengthening the impact of the fundraiser.
During the game, attendees were reminded that the funds raised will help support individuals diagnosed with ALS through resources such as assistive technologies, grants, and other services designed to help families navigate the changing needs associated with the disease.
Nash Central High School and Northern Nash High School extend their sincere appreciation to everyone who participated, donated, and helped make the fundraiser a success.
