On June 24, North Carolina confirmed its first measles case, so let’s keep our school community safe! Measles is highly contagious (it can linger in the air for up to 2 hours) and spreads via coughs & sneezes. 🤧
đź’‰ Best Protection: MMR vaccine (1 dose = 93% effective; 2 doses = 97% effective)
đź“‹ Proof of Immunity:
• 2 MMR doses (school‑aged kids & travelers)
• Lab‑confirmed immunity or blood test
• Born before 1957 (unless high risk)
đź“ť Take Action Today:
• Review your family’s immunization records
•Contact your healthcare provider for MMR updates
•Submit updated shot records to your school ASAP
